💱 Clipboard OCR Croesus Rates — Currency Converter

Croesus Rates is a specialised tool for converting currency values found in images — price tags, menus, receipts, invoices from abroad. Photograph, paste or upload the image; the tool extracts the text with OCR and applies today's exchange rate — or a specific past date if you need one — either replacing each value or adding the converted amount in brackets right next to it. Beyond images, a Simple Conversion field lets you convert a single value on the spot, the Exchange Rate Difference Calculator shows how much a rate moved between two dates, and the Historical Exchange Rate Export downloads a whole period's rates as a spreadsheet-ready file. Share the converted result via your messaging app, Teams or email in one click.

The name is a nod to Croesus, King of Lydia in the 6th century BC — widely credited as the first ruler to mint coins of standardised, guaranteed purity, and proverbially "as rich as Croesus" ever since. A currency converter felt like the right place to keep that name.

How the conversion works

💱 Where the exchange rate comes from

Croesus Rates uses the European Central Bank's daily reference rate, based on the previous working day's close, covering 31 currencies. To convert between two non-euro currencies, both rates are cross-calculated through the euro.

Supported currencies: EUR, USD, GBP, JPY, CHF, CAD, AUD, CNY, HKD, NZD, SGD, SEK, NOK, DKK, PLN, CZK, HUF, RON, BGN, ISK, TRY, ILS, INR, IDR, KRW, MYR, PHP, THB, MXN, BRL and ZAR.

For example, on 20 March 2026, 1 euro (EUR) was worth about 1.1555 US Dollars (USD), 0.86438 British Pounds (GBP), 183.46 Japanese Yen (JPY), 0.9096 Swiss Francs (CHF) and 7.9664 Chinese Yuan (CNY).

Beyond today's rate, Croesus Rates goes further using this same European Central Bank data: uncheck "Latest close" next to the currency selector to use a specific past date instead of today's (up to 5 years back); use the Exchange Rate Difference Calculator to see how much a rate moved between two dates; or use the Historical Exchange Rate Export to download a plain text file with every business day's rate over a whole period, ready to open in a spreadsheet.
