🔁 Unit converter
Convert between any two units in a category — not limited to the fixed pairs above.
💲 Price per unit
Enter the price for a given quantity, then get the price per whichever unit you want.
⚖️ Comparator
Compare up to four products or measurements side by side — even different pack sizes or units — and see which one is the better deal per unit. Add a price to each one you want to compare on cost.
📐 Clipboard OCR Konvorcet — Converter: Distance · Area · Weight · Volume · Temperature
Konvorcet is a specialised tool for converting distance, area, weight, volume and temperature values found in images — recipes, product labels, travel documents, shipping and customs forms, property listings. Photograph, paste or upload the image; the tool extracts the text with OCR and applies the conversion you choose, either replacing each value or adding the converted amount in brackets right next to it. Below the extraction tool you'll also find a free any-to-any unit converter, a price-per-unit calculator and a measurement and price comparator. Share the converted result via your messaging app, Teams or email in one click.
The name is a nod to Nicolas de Condorcet — the French mathematician and philosopher who championed the decimal metric system during the French Revolution, and who served as Inspector General of the Paris Mint. A converter tool felt like the right place to keep that name.
Recommended uses
- Travelling abroad and reading a road sign, map or menu in a distance or weight unit you're not used to.
- Following a recipe in cups, ounces or Fahrenheit when you only know grams, millilitres and Celsius (or the other way round).
- Checking a package's weight or volume against a shipping or customs limit given in different units.
- Reading a product label or spec sheet with measurements in a system you don't normally use.
- Converting a temperature reading — weather, cooking, a medical thermometer — between °C and °F in one click.
How the conversion works
- 5 categories, one active at a time: Distance, Area, Weight, Volume and Temperature — pick the category and the specific conversion pair you need.
- Fixed, standards-based factors: Every conversion uses the fixed factors shown in the table above, based on NIST and BIPM standards — the same value every time, with no live data to fetch.
- Replace or add in brackets: Choose whether the converted value replaces the original number, or gets added next to it in brackets so both stay visible.
- Free unit converter, one value: Don't need to extract anything from an image? Use the Unit converter further down the page to convert a single value instantly — it isn't limited to the fixed pairs above.
- Custom units: Create your own sets of units — boxes, trays, pallets, packs — each defined as a multiple of another, and use them in the image conversion, the Unit converter, the price-per-unit calculator and the Comparator.
📖 Which unit should I use?
A quick guide to how each measurement is actually used day to day, so you know which units to pick when comparing or converting.
📏 Distance & height
Most of the world measures height and short distances in metres (m) and centimetres (cm), and travel distances in kilometres (km). The US and the UK use feet (ft) and inches (in) for height, and miles (mi) for travel and road signs.
📐 Area & land
Outside the US, flats and houses are listed in square metres (m²), and land in hectares (ha). In the US, floor area is given in square feet (sq ft), and land in acres — this is the pair to pick when comparing a European flat to a US one, or comparing plots of land.
⚖️ Weight
Most countries weigh groceries, parcels and body weight in kilograms (kg) and grams (g). The US uses pounds (lb) and ounces (oz); the UK often uses stone (st) for body weight. Bulk and industrial quantities use tonnes (t) outside the US, and US tons in the US.
🧪 Volume & drinks
Most countries measure bottled drinks and fuel in litres (l) and millilitres (ml). The US uses fluid ounces (fl oz), cups and US gallons (gal); the UK uses pints (pt) for beer and milk.
🍳 Cooking & recipes
Recipes outside the US usually measure solids in grams (g) and liquids in millilitres (ml) or litres (l). US recipes commonly use cups, tablespoons (tbsp) and teaspoons (tsp) for volume, and ounces (oz) or pounds (lb) for weight — all available in the unit converter below.
🌡️ Temperature
Most countries use Celsius (°C) for weather and cooking. The US uses Fahrenheit (°F).
